Log workouts in phone app

The workout logging feature on the Apple Watch is functional but could be significantly more convenient if users could log and modify workouts live on the iPhone while exercising. In a crowded gym, sticking to a set routine isn’t always possible, and flexibility is key. Managing a live workout on the small Apple Watch screen can be tedious, and even adding an exercise on the iPhone while tracking on the watch doesn’t update the workout in real-time—it only applies if the workout is restarted. Enabling real-time workout modifications on the iPhone would greatly enhance usability and flexibility.

Exercise tracking during workout from phone.

Really frustrating having to start and stop each set on the watch, and my gloves keep pressing the dial… would be good to hit go on the workout and then just enter reps etc after each set similar to JEFit or HEVY on the phone. Otherwise new to Bevel and so far liking it overall.

Hi Leonard Leyland, Thanks for the suggestion! This is on our Roadmap, let me merge this to an existing planned ticket.

Randell great. It looks like JEFit feeds into the data too so for now that is a good alternative.

Adjusting exercise during workout
Christian
If you’re using a new gym and they don’t have a piece of equipment you need for a specific exercise - having the ability to change that to one that is possible for that specific workout would be nice. Example - no barbell bench press - adjust to dumbbell bench press for that workout.
Randell
Hi Christian, Just to clarify, are you asking for specific workouts where it’s possible to substitute equipment? For example, switching from a barbell to dumbbells?
Also, please note that you can skip your current workout if the equipment is not yet available at the gym. Here's how to:
1.Workout Screen (Blue Background - Paused)
2.Scroll up using your digital crown or swipe up on the watch
3.Tap on the workout in your plan that you want to do next to skip the current one.
4.You can go back to the exercise that you skipped by doing the steps above again
You can refer to this reddit post: https://www.reddit.com/r/bevelhealth/comments/1fuocgh/workout_request/
Christian
Randell correct, subbing an exercise would be great. Sometimes, when traveling, the equipment is different but I’d like to hit similar muscle groups and not just skip the exercise completely.

Christian: I see, let me merge this ticket on a similar feature request for you. Thank you for the suggestion!

Add the option to input workout data (weights and reps) on phone

Instead of only allowing weight and reps for workout to be not from the apple watch, add the option to also add it from the phone, that way workout progression can still be tracked if apple watch is forgotten or low on charge. It would also possibly make it more efficient to input data on the phone as it has a bigger screen. Thanks
